Student Statement of Intent

My main point of interest for my second year art project is portraits and figure. I have always been intested in both and most of my artwork involves one or the other in some way - so I decided this would be a good point of interest for me to explore.

I want to explore different ways of creating portraits or figureative work through using different mediums and surfaces. I aim to try and capture different emotions using different methods to do so with each collection of pieces I make. I also intent to experiment with scale and the size of the pieces I create and find what interests me the most.

To portray this through my work, I will use a wide scale of mediums, for example: acrylic paint, water colour paint, oil, ink, pastel, charcoal and so on. This will provide me with successful experimentations for what I want to do as I will have more freedom to do so since I haven't chosen a strict topic as my point of interest.
