Colour and Figure Combination

These are my first experiments combining figure and colour to portray an emotion within my work. I think the relationship between the two go hand in hand with water colour as my chosen medium as - like I have said before - it truly does almost have a mind of it's own. These pieces were fun to make, although they're not quite satisfying to me yet. Inspired by Van Gogh again, I tried to feel the colours and explore which colours work best with which. I also loved the harrowing eyes he uses within his pieces, and tried to create the same effect here. I think on the second piece I might have achieved this a little too much though, it almost gave me nightmares!
