Watercolour Experimentation!

Feeling inspired by my new found knowledge about Van Gogh, and also feeling confident with my understanding of figures, I now wanted to start to explore colour a little more before combining the two.

For these pieces I wanted to focus more specifically on how colour can portray an emotion. So I made these by adding droplets of colour around the square bit by bit to create different textures and patterns. I really enjoyed this way of creating work! As watercolour seems to have a mind of it's own anyway, it was more of a collaboration between myself and the medium rather than just me having total say of the work. I intend to make more of these in the coming weeks to further understand how colour can portray an emotion within an image.
