We visited the Baltic today with Gary Power who had managed to arrange for a tour guide to take us around the exhibtions. It was good to have this opportunity as we were able to fully dicuss and understand the artists, the works and what each artist was aiming to portray within their work.
We then had a look around the library they have there and the incredible collection of contempoary art books they have. It was good to know this is avalible to our students as it holds quite a vast amount of book that the Murray library doesn't currently have within their collection. They also have a website with videos about artists who have held exhibitions at the Baltic, which gives you an even better understanding of the works that capture your interests:

Overall it was avery good day. The visit inspired me to think about creating art in so many new ways, not just through painting or making marks on paper!
