I have a habit of craving perfection within my work. Recently I have come to realise this can be quite a drawback for me sometimes. So I decided to make some quick portraits, each taking no longer than ten minutes each - taking some aspects from what was around me, and some from memory. I chose to use pen as it is a permenant mark, in case I was tempted to cheat myself and rub ay lines out! I came to realise I really enjoyed sketching this way as it allowed me to become much more free as I drew. Giving myself a time limit was hepful as I was able to forget about perfection entirely and work with each mark I made in a new perspective.
